San Sebastian to Zarautz

After a long and rewarding walk that felt better than I expected, we reached Zarautz.  Along the way, a lovely dog named “Lei”  walked with a French pilgrim and I for about 5 km.  Like an oasis in the desert, a lady from Uruguay appeared  before us with hot coffee and warm toasts, in a tent by the road.  Lei disappeared and I thanked its company. After arriving in Orio, last town before the planned stop, I dropped an earpiece into the deep sea channel.  I descended to the town and slept in a beautiful hostal called BlaiBlai in Zarautz. I took my first dip in the Cantabrian sea (14 degrees water) for 15 minutes to help my legs recover. It did the trick. I would sleep little that night but it was a lovely night nonetheless.
